Why choose PocketFives for Rakeback?

PocketFives has been a trusted name in the online poker industry since early 2005, providing online poker content, a forum community, and online poker rankings to more than 60,000 members.  If you don't know much about us, though, here is some information about our company:

-Launched in January of 2005 as primarily a poker player ranking site and forum

-Founded by Cal Spears, Riley Bryant, and Adam Small, three American online poker enthusiasts who wanted to create something new and exciting for online poker players

-Merged in May of 2007 with PokerSourceOnline.com, another highly trusted online poker affiliate site, which provides gifts and cash bonuses in exchange for signing up a new account on a poker site

Our rakeback program on PocketFives uses rakeback software, a customer support department, and promotional dollars provided by our parent company, which operates some of the largest and most reputable rakeback sites in the world.  Though PocketFives Rakeback is a relatively new offering, the people behind it have several years of experience providing support to more than 30,000 satisfied rakeback customers.

In addition to our excellent support department, PocketFives Rakeback players can take part in more than $125,000 EACH MONTH in promotions exclusive to players within our operating network.  These include freerolls for all players who play at least a relatively small amount each month and rake races that reward our higher volume players.  Either way, as a PocketFives Rakeback player, you have the chance to pad your pocket with extra cash on top of the rakeback you're already earning.

We want you to be happy as a PocketFives Rakeback customer.  If you have any feedback for us or any questions at all, you can contact us at any hour on any day: http://rakeback.pocketfives.com/support.

Why are my rakeback earnings not as high as I think they should be?

For most poker sites, the rakeback you can earn is not a direct percentage of your rake, but rather a percentage of the net revenue (MGR/NGR) the poker site has generated from your play.  To get this number, first your rake is added up and then certain deductions are made before coming up with the final number.  You then receive your percentage of the final net revenue number.

On Full Tilt and most other sites, deductions are made on deposits and various withdrawals, and thereby to preserve rakeback, we recommend that you not deposit and withdraw more than necessary.

Full Tilt deductions from your MGR include but are not limited to bonus dollars cleared, deposit fees, various withdrawal fees (paper checks cost $15), points spent in the FTP store ($5 against MGR for every 1,000 points spent), and tournament overlays.  The last part is a bit confusing, so let us explain.  If you enter a tournament that has a guarantee, but that guarantee is not reached by the buy ins in the event, each player's MGR is deducted for their piece of the extra money in the prize pool.  For instance, if there is a $10,000 guarantee but only $9,000 in buy ins and there are 100 players in the event, each player's MGR is deducted $10.  The reason for this is that Full Tilt is providing an extra $1,000 to the prize pool, divided amongst 100 players.  The same rules apply for freerolls entered.

On most other sites, bonuses are deducted from your MGR.  However, on several they are not.  See individual poker site sign up pages for each offer for information about how bonuses will affect your rakeback.

Can I get rakeback on an existing account?

Generally the answer is no, but in rare cases on select poker sites it can be done.  If you would like to find out if this is possible in your case, please feel free to contact our Support Department.

Do you offer rakeback deals that aren't listed on this site?

We do not have any deals that aren't listed, though we will be frequently adding new offers.

How does PocketFives know how much rake I've generated?

The poker rooms we're working with to provide you rakeback send us updated stats several times a week.  These are the same stats on which your rakeback payments are based.  You can access these stats when you are logged in via the My Account section of our site.

When do I get paid???

Your rakeback payments are never far away!  Depending on the poker site on which you are playing, your payments will come at different times.  We will keep this post updated as we add more offers to PocketFives.

On Full Tilt Poker, payments are made weekly.  Every Friday (sometimes Thursday), a payment is made that covers all of your earnings from the previous Tuesday through Monday.  So, for instance, a payment on Friday, October 17th would cover rake you generated from Tuesday, October 7th through Monday, October 13th.

On both Cake Poker and Betfair, payments are made directly to your player account around the 5th of each month and cover all rakeback earned in the previous month.

How is rakeback affected by bonuses?

The answer to this question is that it depends on the poker site.  Each poker site has different policies on this, we have done our best to provide information about each site's policy on our individual rakeback offer pages.  For most sites, the policy is that the bonus is deducted from your net rake number, and thereby you have a deduction to your rakeback that is X% of your bonus.  X, of course, would be the % of rakeback you earn on that poker site.  However, on some sites the bonus is not deducted.  Either way, a bonus is almost always a good thing for a player, and we encourage you to take the poker sites up on their bonus offers!

Why is my rakeback payment smaller than I thought it would be?

This could be the case for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the following:

-Your tracking may not use the same method that the poker site uses to track your rake (i.e. Dealt vs. Contributed vs. Weighted Contributed)

-Deductions have been applied to your rake for deposit fees, tournament overlays, bonuses cleared, points spent in the poker site's store, etc.  Full Tilt's store, for instance, charges $0.005 per point used against your net rake, thereby costing the player $0.00135 per point used in rakeback.

In the end, the rakeback stats shown on your My Account page are for net rake, which is the amount of rake you've generated minus applicable charges.  You'll receive your rakeback based on that number.
